{"id":1096,"date":"2013-09-21T12:00:38","date_gmt":"2013-09-21T11:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.geraldgarcia.com\/wordpress\/?p=1096"},"modified":"2013-09-21T15:32:08","modified_gmt":"2013-09-21T14:32:08","slug":"coffin-lets-you-party-to-spotify-in-the-afterlife","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/geraldgarcia.com\/?p=1096","title":{"rendered":"Coffin Lets You Party To Spotify In The Afterlife"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For those of you who cannot keep still, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2013\/09\/05\/catacombo-sound-system_n_3874456.html\" target=\"_blank\">this might be just the ticket.<br \/>\n<\/a>Swedish company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pauseljudbild.com\" target=\"_blank\">Pause Ljud &amp; Bild<\/a> is offering coffins complete with speakers and a streaming Spotify account to keep the tunes rocking in the grave.<br \/>\nFor $30,000, audiophiles can jam all afterlife long in one of these special coffins, known as the CataCombo Sound System and featuring two-way speakers and a \u201cdivine\u201d subwoofer.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2013\/09\/05\/catacombo-sound-system_n_3874456.html\" target=\"_blank\">M<\/a>ight even be enough to <a title=\"Rei\u00dfiger\u2019s Waltz\" href=\"http:\/\/geraldgarcia.com.c51.previewmysite.eu\/WPress\/?p=1088\">bring down the House of Usher<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SDpC5ZYcA7M?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Actually,<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-2303284\/Chinese-student-Zeng-Jia-hosts-FUNERAL.html\" target=\"_blank\">the following<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is what I really want to do with my coffin.<br \/>\nI have one ready, mainly because I got for free from a student who was doing a holiday job at an undertaker&#8217;s. (We carried it into the house on our shoulders with much curtain twitching from the neighbours across the road&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p>Chinese student Zeng Jie staged a &#8216;rehearsal&#8217; for her own funeral because she didn&#8217;t want to miss the festivities.<br \/>\nMy idea is to rent out the whole funeral experience &#8211; so we know what our loved (and not so loved) ones really think of us, and we can join in the party.<br \/>\nFriends could have the whole thing &#8211; the wake, party and speeches.<br \/>\nIt could all be filmed, and the film could be shown at the real event when it eventually happens.<br \/>\nThis could also be a great way to let people know what you want to happen at your funeral e.g. what music and readings<\/p>\n<p>I have had this idea for 20 years or so now. Any takers?
