I have known David Solomons<\/a>, self-styled “singer, one-man choir, guitarist and composer”\u00a0since university days and was always in awe at his ability to play an orchestral score on the piano, or the guitar, or anything that came to hand or voice.
\nHe embodies the idea of a musician who happens to play the guitar, and I am happy to say that he is flourishing as a guitarist and composer<\/a>.
\nMany of his pieces have unusual titles, such as “Alcohol<\/a>“, “Arthropod Duet<\/a>“, “Hair of the Doggerel<\/a>” , “Ode to a Nose<\/a>“etc – those who have come across my Etudes Esquisses<\/a> will know I also enjoy using wordplay in unusual and surreal titles!
\nCheck out the eclecticism! Leave your theories and prejudices at the door.<\/em> (Interestingly, this is also the effect that Aniello Desiderio<\/a>, coming from a totally different perspective, has in his playing – he is asking you to use your ears and not your preconceptions when listening to his playing).
